The Teulon Farmers Market is excited to be planning our seventh annual Springfest Craft Sale, in Teulon, MB on May 4, 2019 and we are now accepting vendor applications!
Last year’s Springfest Craft Sale was a huge success! We had approximately 800 people through the doors and customers were there to shop! Our Winterfest Craft Sale in November had 1750 customers over 2 days! We continue to grow every year with every event we host! We have chosen the weekend before Mother’s Day again as this is the perfect opportunity for customers to shop for the mom’s in their lives and celebrate springs arrival. Since this event is hosted by our local Farmers Market, all products sold are to be handmade; we will not include direct sale companies.
Springfest is held in our spacious Teulon Hall. We have 36 - eight foot tables at a cost of $40 each (in center of hall, no power), 2 booths 10x10 in size with a back wall and power at a cost of $80 each, 10 wall spots that include power at no additional charge (8x5) at a cost of $50 each and the bar with freezer space $50. The tables have a walkway every couple vendors and only a few feet behind. If you are bringing racks or additional displays they must fit in your space and not go into the aisle. Make sure to bring a smaller table. Let us know on your application form if you need your tables in your spot. We allow each vendor to book one table. If you need more space please book a booth. We have had complaints that vendors are booking two tables when their inventory can fit on one or they can restock. With such a waiting list of vendors who want to attend we are trying this to accommodate more vendors and more variety. Tables and chairs are provided for all our vendors but you must bring your own table coverings (to the floor) and extension cords if you need power.
Springfest Craft Sale is a juried event. The reason we do this is to allow us to have a balance of makers not only in each category but also at the 3 events we host. If you haven’t participated at our events in the past 2 years we ask you to please include some photos (or a website, Facebook page etc.) of the items that you sell. Max of 4 photos. We will limit the number of vendors in all categories (example – jewelry, canning, soaps, baking) at our organizers discretion. We want a great balance of all vendors to satisfy our customers shopping needs and to not have an oversaturation of any one product. Please note that it is not first come, first dibs on the tables. Vendors will be emailed or phoned when accepted. Vendors are chosen on originality and quality so do your best to sell your products on your applications. Just because you have attended in the past doesn’t guarantee your spot. Every application is reviewed for each event. This helps us to ensure variety and freshness at our events.
All money collected from our makers goes directly into promotion and expenses. Large block ads will be placed in the Stonewall/ Teulon Tribune, the Interlake Express and The Selkirk Record. We print professional posters and signs. If you can help put up posters in your communities, please mention on your application and we will mail copies to you. Springfest will also use social media, watch for the Springfest Craft Sale on Facebook and Instragram. We believe in the power of the makers themselves. I will email all our makers copies of our posters so you can spread the word by inviting your friends, family, co-workers and neighbours. There is no longer a silent auction. Your table rental cost is all you pay or give. We charge a $3 admission to help raise funds for the farmers market and community. We make donations to the volunteer groups who volunteer at the event like Teulon’s Helping Hands and Lions Club. We work hard to get good amounts of customers as they are our revenue, not you the makers.
To increase traffic, we’ll have family photos available by Sweet and Wild Photography. Customers can get their photo taken for a mother’s day gift or have a multi-generational photo taken. Judi had over 75 families participate last year. Springfest is to be more than just a craft sale…it will be an event not to miss!
Teulon is 30 minutes north of the perimeter with an immediate trading area of 5000. We are a 20 minute drive to a much larger trading area including Stonewall, Gimli and Selkirk. We are amazed every year how far customers are coming from. They appreciate a real quality craft sale. One where you can find amazing handmade talent and not direct sale companies.
We will accept applications until March 13, 2019 when we will make our selection. No post-dated cheques please. In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel, no cheques will be refunded after March 13, 2019. Make cheques payable to the Teulon Farmers Market. Mail payment and application to Darci Loehmer, Box 195, Balmoral, MB, R0C 0H0. For more information please contact Darci at 204-467-9064, text me at 204-461-0902 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
